This collection consists chiefly of materials reflecting Jackson's involvement in civil rights organizations, especially those fighting for racial justice. Files include correspondence, petitions, by-law amendments, minutes, financial papers, press releases, bulletins, scrapbooks, and published material. The collection also includes Jackson family papers.
